After six years off the air, fans can officially get back in “The Game.” The rebooted sports dramedy that explores the lives of football players and their families premiered on Paramount+ on November 11. Hosea Chanchez (“Black Lightening”) and Wendy Raquel Robinson (“Insecure”) reprise their roles as footballer Malik Wright, and Wright’s sports agent mother, Tasha Mack. The series, however, will feature a mix of old and new players (it’s also set in Las Vegas instead of San Diego). Adriyan Rae (“Chicago Fire”) plays Brittany Pitts, the daughter of Jason and Kelly Pitts; Vaughn Hebron (“Tyler Perry’s The Oval”) plays Jamison Fields, an undrafted free agent. Analisa Velez (“Sneaky Pete”) is Brittany’s best friend, Raquel Navarro, and Toby Sandeman (“Power Book III: Raising Kanan”) plays Garret Evans, the top football player in the league.
Brittany Daniels (“#blackAF”), who played Kelly Pitts in the original series, is returning to the new installment, along with Pooch Hall (“Ray Donovan”) as Derwin Davis. Both are slated to appear in all 10 episodes in Season 1.

Tia Mowry won’t be coming back as Davis’ wife, Melanie, but the actress hasn’t ruled out a possible return. “Never say never. I mean, as it stands for right now, we aren’t in any talks or communication about me coming back to the show,“ Mowry said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
